Course Description:
Research presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests that approximately 48 - 65% of the U.S. population uses medications. Research presented by the CDC also suggests that the number of Americans using medications may be on the rise. Therefore, acupuncturists should be familiar with some of the most commonly used medications in order to optimize patient care. This course reviews the adverse reactions, contraindications, warnings and precautions, and considerations for special patient populations associated with some of the most commonly used medications in order to build awareness among acupuncturists.
